Rome
A pilgrimage to Rome offers a profound exploration of faith, history, and art, beginning with visits to the four major basilicas: the majestic St. Peter’s Basilica at the heart of the Vatican, St. Paul Outside the Walls, St. Mary Major, and St. John Lateran, each holding significant religious and architectural importance. The journey continues through the Vatican Museums, culminating in the awe-inspiring Sistine Chapel, adorned with Michelangelo’s masterpieces. Pilgrims can reflect at the Catacombs, ancient burial sites of early Christians. Cultural highlights include a photo stop at the iconic Colosseum, a visit to the historic Pantheon, and a chance to toss a coin into the enchanting Trevi Fountain. The pilgrimage extends to Assisi, where the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli and the Basilica of St. Francis honor the legacy of St. Francis. A visit to the breathtaking Frasassi Caves adds a touch of natural wonder, completing this deeply enriching journey.
